Format Evolution: Lessons from Season One
Season One of the Esports Championship was a battleground of intense competition and unforgettable moments. Based on your invaluable feedback, we’ve evolved the structure for Season Two. Staying true to our core goals of live-streaming every match, fostering a genuine esports atmosphere, and offering tangible rewards, we’ve reimagined Season Two‘s structure.
Double Elimination: Second Chances and Epic Comebacks
Prepare for the drama of double elimination in Season Two! For the same nominal entry fee of $10, this format gives players a second chance within each Qualifier. A single loss won’t end your journey, it fuels your comeback through the loser’s bracket to potentially claim the top spot. For our viewers, expect even more clutch plays, unexpected upsets, and edge-of-your-seat matches.
The Ranking List: Strategy Beyond Single Qualifiers
In Season Two, consistency will be your greatest asset. While only the Winner of each qualifier will automatically advance to the Season Final, as we did for Season One, every qualifier offers crucial ranking points. These points accumulate over the season, determining your position on the leaderboard. The ranking points earned are different for each game. You can view these on the tournament page under the “GAME SPECIFIC DETAILS AND RULES” tab.
The Ranking List rewards your performance across all Qualifiers with points for every round won, every match won, every elimination (in MW3), and participation.
The top players on the Ranking List after all Qualifiers completed, will join the qualifier Winners to fill the 8-player double elimination draw. Players can secure your spot in the Season Finals, even if they don’t win a Qualifier outright. Play hard, think strategically, and climb to the top!
Prize Structure: Cash Rewards and the Championship Ring
ESC is committed to a sustainable model where all entry fees contribute to the prize pools. This approach not only supports our players financially but also ensures the longevity and stability of our platform.
There’s more than just bragging rights at stake. Each weekly Qualifier features cash prizes: $100 for the winner and $30 for the runner-up. But that’s not all. Every entry fee beyond the guaranteed prize pool goes straight into boosting the Season Finals payouts for each game. Plus, viewers can donate during our live streams, with 100% of these contributions go directly into that game’s Season Finals prize pool, further increasing the stakes.
We’re starting with a minimum of $1300, but with your support and viewership, those prize pools can grow even larger! The ultimate prize? The prestigious Championship Ring for our Season Champions.
Illustrating the Prize Pool: A Season Two Scenario
Imagine each of our four qualifiers for a game, say Street Fighter 6, is fully entered by 16 players. Here’s how the prize pool calculations work out:
-
- Entry Fee per Player: $10
-
- Total Entry Fees for a Full Qualifier (16 players): 16 x $10 = $160
-
- Guaranteed Prize Pool for Each Qualifier: $130 ($100 for the winner, $30 for the runner-up)
With 16 players, the first 13 entrants cover the guaranteed prize pool ($130). The remaining 3 entrants contribute an additional $30 (3 x $10) to the Season Finals’ prize pool for Street Fighter 6.
-
- Additional Contribution from Each Qualifier to the Season Finals: $30
-
- Total Additional Contribution from Four Qualifiers: $30 x 4 = $120
This $120 would be added on top of the guaranteed prize pool. There is also a Championship Ring given to the Season Final Winner in addition to prize money.
-
- Revised Prize Pool for the Season Finals (with full qualifiers):
-
- Winner: $175
-
- Runner-up: $75
-
- Third Place: $25 Ace Gamer Apparel Voucher
-
- Revised Prize Pool for the Season Finals (with full qualifiers):
The same calculation applies to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. If both games reach full capacity in qualifiers, the total prize pool for the season escalates:
-
- Guaranteed Prize Pool for Both Games (Qualifiers + Finals): $1300
-
- Total Extra from Full Qualifiers for Both Games: $240
-
- Overall Season Prize Pool: $1300 (guaranteed) + $240 (extra) = $1540
Remember, these calculations do not include donations given during streams that would boost these figures even more.
This example highlights our commitment to transparency and player rewards, demonstrating the significant potential for prize money based on full participant turnout. It’s a clear illustration of how ESC is designed to benefit the players, with all entry fees flowing back into the prize pool, ultimately enhancing the competitive experience and rewards.
By laying out these numbers and the process behind them, we at ESC aim to foster an environment of openness and clarity. We believe in empowering our players with full knowledge of how their participation contributes to the overall prize pool and the potential rewards that await them.
Ensuring Guaranteed Rewards: Our Commitment to Players
We guarantee the prize money listed for both qualifiers and Season Finals, irrespective of the number of entrants. This commitment underlines our dedication to providing a rewarding and fair competitive environment for all players.
